A prime member can add someone onto their account by sending them an invitation through their prime account. I think you can add up to 5 people. The person added will get the free shipping benefits (but no movies, shows, books,etc) and the accounts are totally separate. I've been on my friend's account for years.

I think it's a lesson that you only use your own accounts.

You made things more complicated by sharing accounts ~ this is the result. Let it go.

This happens between DH and I sometimes. He puts in a gift card, and my subscribe and save 'steals' it from him. Or since there are other ppl using it, it's even more likely there was a mistake.

DH and I don't share our prime with others.... Only twice and we were present. One was a surprise Fitbit gift for our coworker / his wife. The other when our parents were staying with us and my dad needed something.

Karma for using a prime account you don't pay for. Amazon says what you are doing is a no-no.

Oh it is???? Well that explains it. I didn't realize that. I'll see if she says anything. I may point out that she and her brother accidentally use my credit. If she still doesn't respond, I'll chalk it up to lesson learned using someone's account.
Bummer... And yes, I need batteries. I actually do order my batteries from amazon so I could have bought some extras. But now to track down my money and ask her to get me a 50 dollar card would seem crappy.

Good idea but I don't think you can charge to a different account without Amazon prompting you for the security number. Every time I shop from a different computer, it makes me re-enter the credit card number.

Odd situation. My good friend has amazon prime and when I needed to buy a gift last minute, she suggested I use her prime account so I could get in 2 days. Perfect! Item arrived all good. I noticed her brother, sister and neighbor use her prime account as well.
I paid with my credit card and a 50 dollar amazon gift card I had.
Long story short, my item was recalled so I got money back. Credit on my charge card/ and 50 credited back as gift card on her account.
I texted her that 50 gift card would be on her account and I would use it to buy batteries just FYI.
I went in to check status and she had used it! It was just posted 5 days ago. And if u have amazon, u know that a refund on gift card clearly shows ( even has a pic) of what the credit is from.

I texted her but heard nothing back. Guess I should let it go. But it's 50 bucks. If me, I'd simply say "hey sorry didn't notice it was yours- I out 50 dollar gift card back in account or in new gift card I just emailed u"

I appreciate her letting me use her membership but hate that it cost me 50 bucks. I noticed part of it was used by her brother! I can see the orders it was applied to.
