So something is out, but not the scores by grade level. Just whether the school reached benchmarks.

These are reasonable expectations for any parent. In fact, all parents should be looking at / asking for the same information. Since the SOLs are not set up to show growth from year to year it is especially important to look at each year and compare where your child is relative to the class, school, district and state. This helps parents know if their child is making progress, maintaining place or falling behind relative to the age group.

You know how your child did. The end.
I am not the person you are responding to, but I want to know. They changed the format for one of the tests and I am curious as a teacher and parent to see the results. I personally did not agree with the change.
I am also a teacher and a parent. My students took the tests. My DS took his tests. I have my DS's scores. My students are now on to the next grade level. I saw their scores in the spring. I'm not going to compare to see where my DS ranks.

They haven't posted the individual school report cards yet (with each grade, test, demographic passing/failing rate). They will very shortly publicize the county results as a whole. And then the state usually posts the updated data on the state dept. of ed. site. OP, I like to look at the data too... just for grins. Tells me where my kids' schools were doing well or not so well. Sometimes it is subject specific, grade specific or demographic specific. And I like to know how many kids are getting adv. pass vs/ just pass. It's not the be all end all... but it's one piece of info.
