I love eclectic styles! Go hand me down moms! I'm the first of my close friends having kids and family is far away but I did manage to get a few hand me downs!

We are having a little boy and his room is very pale mint green, with a bright whitish rug, grey furniture and bright white accents on the wall. We have a safari theme with hippos and elephants to tie in the grey and then other colorful animals thrown on top. I would describe most of the room as muted and calm.

Still waiting on my BBB glider to come! They weren't kidding when they said 12-16 weeks for delivery if you order your fabric! I'm due right in the middle of that and hope it is there in time or shortly thereafter!

PP here, and I wanted to add that the nurseries PPs described above sound beautiful and magical!

We didn't have a theme. We had painted the walls a light blue about 2 years prior when we used it as an office. We ended up with a red hand-me-down crib, which looked really nice with the shade of blue on the walls. Add in a gray dresser that was given to us, a gray & white plush rocking chair we bought, and a dark blue rug. It all actually looks nice together.

Hung a couple of things on the walls that we already had. Really glad we didn't spend a ton of money (my son is now 2). We figure we will redo the room when he is a little older, into something he picks and that will last him throughout a lot of his childhood.

Hand me downs is the theme of Baby Two's nursery. I am feeling a little guilty! Haha. But #1 took years to conceive and I had a vision of her nursery in my head while I was dreaming and hoping for her, so that one was easy (just colors) to make happen. Baby Two is lucky he's getting furniture, and I don't think anything will match...I'll make it up to him when he's older and has a preference .

We painted our walls a pale yellow, and did a stars theme (think "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" as inspiration). We had a little girl (and we knew this ahead of time), but the decor we chose would have worked for either a boy or a girl. I thought stars would be easy to find for a nursery, but I was really surprised at the lack of options. We found star lights at Ikea, and I found the bedding online. DH came across a star rug online, as well. Painted stars on the ceiling fan, as well.
The crib and other furniture are a dark cherry color.

We did an all white nursery. Antique dresser and armoire painted light gray, rod iron crib, big plush white rug and a chandelier. It sounds plain but it turned out really great. We have artwork on the walls that hung in DH and I's nurseries.

Baby Safari Animals. We're in a rental, so didn't want to paint the walls. I got some big decals from Etsy that look really great, and are supposed to be easy to remove when we leave here.

Midcentury whimsy. White, grey, black, turquoise, orange, lime green.

Woodland creatures! I'm doing mint green walls ( or just a mint accent wall.. Tbd) with gray and coral link accents. Trying not to go overboard with themed decor but want something cohesive.

Our theme for our twins was rainbows and hot air balloons, in part because we got this mural in 3' x 6' size. We have their room painted in primary colors (red, yellow, blue and green). And this was put in the center of a long yellow wall. We had various rainbow and balloon decorations to add to it. We also had some old white dressers that we repainted white and then we painted each drawer front with red, orange, blue, green, yellow and purple. It was like a nice crayola box of crayons. It's no longer a nursery, but their bedroom now and they love the colors.

In my native language "sweet dreams" translates to "golden dreams", so that's become our theme. Dark blue accent wall with golden moon and stars decals, a string of fairy lights, crib sheet with a star pattern, everything else is kept calm and simple with golden accents here and there.

Could work for both genders, I guess. Though we knew what it was going to be. I figure it will grow well too, since it's not a stereotypical baby theme. It fits with a bedroom of an older kiddo too.

Just for fun. How are you decorating your nursery?

We're not finding out the gender so we're going with a golden yellow for the paint as a nice neutral color. I found some wall decals of baby animals. Those seem easy to change out as baby grows. I also have sheets and a lamp with baby animals as the print.
