uh huh

It's all PC BS. I'd rather hear the truth than listen to someone spout off euphemisms.

Well the truth is you are stupid. Did that feel good?

If you really think public civility isn't important, I challenge you to go live in one of the many developing countries in which people do not treat each other civilly because people are either too poor, or the rule of law is too weak, or there was a recent war and it upended societal norms. Enjoy being pushed out of the way or jumped in front of in non-existent queues for limited supplies of goods. Enjoy being spat on or pissed on or your home's front door shat upon because people are drunk in public and no one enforces any sort of decency. Enjoy having your things stolen if you're "stupid" enough not to have bars on every window and an alarm and live in a gated community.

God, Trump supporters are so ignorant. They can't even imagine what a real society without civility looks like. Travel a little, OP. You'll have your answer. It's a freaking nightmare to live in a society in which people treat each other like enemies as a matter of daily life.

As you have so vividly shown.

Because you can't "Make America Great Again" by acting like a buffoon. You'll just lower our standing in the world and alienate foreign heads of state.

Things are politically correct because they are phrased in a way that does not cause unnecessary offense. You can lie or tell the truth in PC language, and you can lie or tell the truth in offensive language.

Both candidates have told lies, but Trump's are (in my opinion) much more numerous and divisive, and (without a doubt) more offensively stated.

But what scares me most about Trump is that the term "cult of the personality" fits him perfectly, and it's a term that has historically been applied to demagogues and dictators. Khizr Khan may be wrong that Trump will challenge our constitutional government as no president has, but I think it's too much of a risk for our nation to take.

And... Trump is truthful? ???

Honesty is part of civility, to me.

Then quit spouting euphemisms like "PC." Which phrases have you been prevented from using, exactly? Which most truthful words and phrases do you burn to use that you cannot?

I actually thought the civility point was well made by the campaign ad that ran during the DNC showing children watching Trump make an ass of himself. The president is a role model for our children. How do you want your kids to comport themselves in public?

Support for Trump shows this isn't important to everyone.

1. I do believe civility is important but George W and Dick Chaney lied repeatedly in very civil tones about reasons for starting war in Iraq.

2. Don't talk to Trump supporters. You won't change their minds. They are like the people who don't believe in the scientific evidence for vaccines.

If you want to try to convince anyone--try talking to undecided voters in swing states or help in getting people to the polls on election day. That's what matters!

I still think it's an important point to make, whether to a Trump supporter or an undecided.

Meant to add that the only reasons you need to articulate are the reasons why you're voting for the opposition. (Other than the obvious--she's not Trump. Thank God.)
