I had a trip to Cancun planned for February, we cancelled and went to Palm Springs instead. I ended up conceiving in February and was glad I'd cancelled, although from what what I'd researched it's not a particularly buggy area (and you can take precautions with clothing, spray, etc).

If your husband gets it you'll have to wait 6 months. They're thinking that's how long it could live in sperm. I would go if they knew for sure that it was 6 months, but the scary thing is the virus is still so new we dont know much about it indefinitely.

I wouldn't why take the risk? Plus there's so much we don't know about zika and its long term effects.

You'll be fine. You're supposed to wait 8 weeks after potential exposure (with no symptoms) to TTC. You have two months between.

Are you normally a high-risk prone person?

Personally, I would not. I've written off all travel south while ttc (and hopefully preggo). Talk to your doctor and as someone mentioned, read cdc guidance.

We will be staying at a resort in Cancun. Should I be concerned about contracting Zika? The Cancun area doesnt seem to have high number of Zika cases.
