"Daddy" is not a common reference to our Father.
So that speech was definitely creepy. Speaker wanted to stand out probably.

A family acquaintance went off the deep end, moved to Alabama and immersed herself in a hardcore religious community. They referred to God as "Daddy." I'm sure if you googled a bit you could find references.

Was it for a wedding, or a birthday? The part you quote says birthday.

This is weird. I'm a Christian and God is our father, (Jesus even referred to the father as "Abba" the more informal Word for "Father," akin to "Papa." It suggests a close, loving Father who cares for us). But that's a weird message. Creeps me out too.
