Check out the La Blanca bathing suits. I have the sweetheart one piece. Will note - order true to size. I typically wear an 8 in clothes but 10 in bathing suits. With this brand, an 8 was more appropriate. The suits have molded cups for the bust, so if you have smaller boobs this isn't for you. I'm a D cup.

I find the sucky-in swimsuit to be uncomfortable and not worth the hassle. I think the key to making it not look frumpy is a really cute print and a lower neckline than most of the MiracleSuits.

I generally go for suits like this and find I'm comfortable camoflauged and still feel cute enough.

Pretty sure that someone who's concerned about her tummy isn't going to choose to wear a bathing suit cut down to her navel...


"mom pooch" is generally below the navel. the bathing suit covers the navel. if she's only worried about a bit of belly, the suit is fine.

I had a miracle suit. When I got in the water my boobs floated up to the top of the suit more than usual and I was pretty self conscious about this so had to wear a rash guard top.

I agree Lands End make good ones, but I would suggest buying a size down. The "normal" size for me was huge and baggy and had to be replaced.

The Land's End blouson tankini top is awesome. And judging by the number of other moms of all shapes rocking it at the pool, it's mom-body friendly

Why not? These are form-fitting, almost like yoga pants but in short shorts form. They're surprisingly flattering and comfortable.

The Miracle Suits do smooth and pull you in. Even when you sit down, it keeps a pretty smooth surface. But they're not super comfortable, so you have to weigh that in. When I was post-partum and more self conscious, it was worth it to me. Now that my tummy has flattened a bit more, I prefer a swim suit with runching to help flatter my tummy. I know Lands End has them, and I've had good luck with a few from Ralph Lauren because they also have underwire, which I need. I'd never paid that much for a bathing suit pre-kids, but now I find it to be worth it.

Ralph Lauren has suits with a mesh lining that does a good job smoothing out your stomach. Check zappos for them.

I like the athleta skirt. I pair it with one of their tops that are loose around the stomach area. It may not be the height of fashion, but I am comfortable wearing it at the pool/beach whereas I'm constantly trying to cover myself or am picking at the stomach area in a one piece or a tight tankini.

Land's End has one that sucks it all in. It's a PIA to get on/off, but it does hold things in. YMMV.

Or just get a two piece. LE does a bottom where it comes up to the belly button, and not just the hips, so it holds in the tummy area better. Get a top that comes down to the hips. I have the mother's apron, and this is what I wear.
