Not the OP, but what AI brand and country did you choose and how old were you kids at the time?

Do a Caribbean condo. I too don't share a hotel with my kids on vacation. That is just not enough room for everyone.

I like Disney but I would never go during the high season because of the lines and other concerns you raised. It isn't any fun when you are getting jostled nonstop.

What about a cruise out of Baltimore? Save on airfare. It's all-inclusive, except for the drinks. Royal Caribbean has great kid programs without the Disney price tag.

Haha no. We're doing the Disney cruise to Bahamas over Easter next year. 7k for cruise, 3k for room and tickets to parks for 2 days. This is for 5 though.

Which AI? If you worry about boredom, perhaps sign up for a few excursions? A lot of places in the Caribbean do zip lines, snorkeling, and horseback riding among other activities. Just depends where you're going.

We took our kids to Disney at those ages and they loved it. I loved seeing the joy on my kids' faces when they were at the Magic Kingdom. But, you know your kids better than us. I know we would have been bored at at the Caribbean because we are not beach people. If I didn't go to Disney I would go to Europe, but that's us.

I'd do Disney just because the relevance might expire before you know it. Especially for the 9 year old. You'll have the whole sullen teen years to do AIs.

atlantis! in the bahamas i think? my nephews said it was the best vacation they've ever been on and they've done disney/ NYC/Paris/Santorini/India/london/SF with their parents. Some of these places multiple paces and on group vacations but they loved atlantis the best.

If you kids like the rides, Disney. If they just want to swim, the Caribbean. My six year old loved Disney at 5 and was a huge roller coaster fan. We're going back this year as its more fun when they are younger. If they aren't into the bigger rides, its not worth it. There are some tame rides, but not many. My kid did not know who Mickey or got the entire theme.

When we went to Disney all my kids wanted to do is go back to the hotel and swim. I felt like it was a waste. They had fun, but no more fun than any other vacation. My boys were 7 and 9.

Trying to figure out where to go in April for Spring break? Should we do Disney or an all-inclusive in the Caribbean?

My concerns about Disney: I presume Disney in April will be a nightmare as everyone is on break. The thought of standing in lines for 34 - 2 hours for a 15 mins ride to rinse and repeat does not seem like fun to me. My kids have not and never have asked to go to Disney. Pros about Disney: It's Disney!!!!

My concerns about AI in Caribbean: Will my 6 and 9 yr old get bored? I despise sharing a room with my children. AIs can be pricey. We'll spend about $5000 for 5 nights. Pros about AI: The hotel we're looking at has rave reviews for how it handles kids. My kids eat like grown men and there is 24 hour food and they're pallats are not that refined. They love to swim 24-7, be it a pool or beach.

Thoughts? Advice? What would you do? Should we just scrap it, stay home, and do 1 day at Six Flags or Hershey Park?
