I had one ex who gifted me a timeless Gucci bag and a beautiful Tiffany's necklace. I've kept both. I see no reason to part with them.

Kept it for awhile too. Had a long term, formative relationship that bridged high school and college. When I was about 28yo or so my parents moved, and I was required to deal with my accumulated "stuff". I was engaged, to my now DH and tried to imagine 20 years from now sitting going through the same letters again with out hypothetical children and it just felt too disrespectful of my DH. I got rid of them all (and there was a ton as we had been long distance for about a year and avid writers). In hind sight, I am sorry I decided to get rid of them all. Not least because, that long ago BF committed suicide a few years later. (Totally unrelated to me.) But I feel like with his death, I lost the person who knew me best at that one moment in time in my life. I also continue to agree with my reasoning for tossing all the letters. There had been talk of his mother giving me the saved letters that I had sent him, but it was too painful for me at the time, and we were not at all in touch at that point. So it wasn't something I pursued.

I threw all that stuff away, I pawned the jewelry too. The stuffed animals I gave them to my younger cousin ( I was obsessed with Hello Kitty)

No. Maybe some pictures but if I have anything else I would be surprised.

This is true.

I wouldn't want to keep any of it. I've only had one real break out from a boyfriend, and I'm in a new relationship now, I got rid of all the old stuff. If they wanted to hold onto it it would probably make me uncomfortable but I think I could deal with it

Did you keep all of that stuff or did you throw it all in the trash as soon as the relationships ended?

If you kept some of them, what does your current husband think about you keeping them?
