He's off work at 3 do something together then.

Mothers day was in early May, it's now late July. So 2.5 months later. Ergo, op's child was likely born in late May, making this past Mother's Day her first one, and one her DH should have acknowledged.

Are we married to the same man?! This year my husband went out of town for work for my birthday. Then I was due with our first child in early May and he did nothing for Mother's Day- not even a card- because he didn't know if I'd "technically" be a mother by then. I wasn't expecting anything huge but a little acknowledgement would have been nice. Our anniversary is in a few days and I know he's not planning anything. I asked him to just this once make an effort on a day that is special to me but he is coming up with excuses on why he can't. If I'm lucky, he'll get a coupon to his favorite crappy chain restaurant and take me there for our anniversary.

Also our anniversary. Dh ditched me to pick up a volunteer shift at work until 3pm. We do not need the money, he enjoys the work for the physical exercise. He did the same thing on (my first) Mother's Day this year. I thought after telling him how hurt I was that he left me all day and didn't even get me a card he wouldn't do it again on another "special" day. But alas he did. My sister went to a wedding out of town for a family member we barely even know and dragged our mom along to be "nanny" for her kids. I have a teething 14 month old and I'm also 5 weeks pregnant and it's making me all the more irrational and upset about being alone today. I think I'll head to Nordstrom rack and treat myself to a new handbag angry husband be damned. I know birthdays are dumb when you reach a certain age but seeing how it's also our anniversary today just sucks.
