I'm ok with shows but have a tough time with the news.

I was a huge fan of ER in its day, but as I've become older, I can't watch those medical dramas anymore. It's good to hear that I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I just don't deal well with blood and gore. I made the mistake of trying to watch er when it was first on by tuning in to the episode Quentin Tarantino directed. There was a kid with a coat hanger stuck in his throat. I nearly puked.

I don't watch medical dramas, crime shows, the news, or horror movies. I have enough worries IRL without needing to add to them.

I'm the opposite and totally gravitate to these shows. I live for the summer reality medical shows that ABC usually runs. I should have gone to nursing school but didn't (instead a semi-related field) and think I missed my calling.

My husband is like you, OP. Stresses him out. He gave me such crap for watching the entire run of ER that I never even started watching Grey's.

Hard for me to watch cop dramas because unarmed people who look like me keep getting killed and beaten by the police.

I can't watch Grey's b/c the terrible acting and scripts are depressing.

No, you're not, OP. I feel the same.

Family member going through serious illness and I avoid medical dramas. Also dislike tv commercials for drugs for serious illnesses as they're a constant reminder of real life.

Ha, typo. I meant several YEARS later. Not tears. But yeah, the tears are all over now too
