I would be more concerned about the difference in grade level at school. If you have a rising redshirted 8th grader who just turned 14 and a high school junior - ICK. If you have an almost 15-year old sophomore and a 16 year old junior, it's not so bad.

14 is when my boys started kissing. You over reacted.

I agree, it would be hard to see my child start to kiss other. It would be hard to know that my child is sexually active. But, if I just wallow in it being hard to comprehend and deal with then I would be naive. Make sure you are talking to your child about sex and safe sex and being someone your child can trust. If you can't be that person, find a responsible adult in your lives that can be that person for them (aunt, uncle, etc.)

I wasn't trying to hint that she was at this point, but she could easily become active especially with a 16 year old boyfriend. I'd rather be proactive, as teens take risks and make bad decisions.

I agree 14 is too young. But not all kids go from kissing to sex right away.

Calm down. Then go talk to him/her. Ask what they like about the neighbor. Ask where they see the relationship going. Ask if it would be awkward to still have to live next to each other when whatever is going on, stops. Listen. Then go away with the new info you have and think about it.

Another person not seeing the issue. And you can't stop a 14 year old from kissing -- but you can require that she sneak around.

If your child is a girl, I'd start birth control soon.

If he's a boy, I'd give him condoms even sooner.

Unless there's more going on here than you say, I don't think this is abnormal or "bad." Are you sure it's not just you?

Neighbor is 16. Sent neighbor home. Sent DC to room.

Not sure how to proceed here.

I don't want to freak out and cause permanent issues, but don't want my 14 year old starting with this stuff yet.
