I'm a introvert. My 8 year old daughter is a extrovert. She can and does have friends over all the time or she's at their house or at a party or a playdate (something every weekend). It's her who has to entertain them not me.

Love it. They are totally occupied and I get glorious alone time.

No, I don't mind. I'm not debilitated by my introversion though; I can be social when I want to. I like to see my kids having fun & playing.

+1. This is me too when they were smaller. But ....now that that my older ones are older and have older friends, I don't like it anymore.

It's fine once kid is mature enough to "go play" with a friend on another level of the house

I don't like it, but for a 2 hour play date, I can tolerate it. Sleepovers are tough, and I generally don't allow play dates longer than 2 hours.

But see I just can't do that to my kids. That's not fair to them. They definitely do not have as many as others because I just can't handle other kids in my house or tagging along on trips all the time but I make myself do them because I don't want my kids to be social pariahs.

Yes I hate it. Play dates give me so much anxiety.

I LOVE IT. Kids are otherwise occupied. I actually prefer to have two kids over, one for each of mine (I find that 3 total can cause more problems than 4 total).

Nope. I've taught my kids to entertain their own friends, enforce boundaries, and come get me when they can't control their guests. I sit on the couch reading or doing laundry or am in the kitchen cooking.

No, because they distract my kids from literally hanging on me for a while.

YES

Play dates and sleepovers are torturous for me. I have to be "on" and deal with other people's kids for hours. Literally mentally wipes me out.

Curious.
