We did universal in July with this advice and it was fine.

We did it last year for a week. It was hot but we still had a lot of fun.

Orlando is generally unbearable in my opinion.

that was the original plan, but we need to be in FL for a couple of days in August anyway - so wondering if we should do the parks while we're there - or if it would be too miserable to even try it.

This. I did go one year in early Sept and it was not crowded at all. But it was still really hot.

We went to WDW in early August one year. It was HOT. Daily thunderstorms. I don't know how old OP's kids are (if OP has kids), how patient OP and spouse are with other people, etc. But I saw many families having various meltdowns with each other (including my own DH with 5-year-old DC) and I'm sure the heat/humidity was a contributor to the patience level.

Yep. I would turn down a free trip to ANYWHERE in Florida between May and September.

You could go to one of the Disney waterparks, or that really expensive place Aquatica.

It is pretty unbearable. The only part of Florida I find bearable at that time is the west coast with clear beaches, but actually being on a beach vacation, and lazying on the beach.

DC is unbearable in August. I would rather not go than go to Disney in August. JMO.

I think it would be totally unbearable.

Need to be in Florida in late August, and thinking of possibly combining with a trip to Disney but will it be just too unbearably hot to enjoy?
