Will DC still be able to attend the school in the old neighborhood this fall? The school in the new neighborhood is desirable too, but even with in-boundary preference, I'm pretty sure DC would not get a seat by that late in the game (based on a terrible lottery pick). I really don't care which school DC attends, as long as it is one of them. What happens under these circumstances?
Once you provided evidence of residency and address for the year - you are in for the year.
If you want to enroll in your new neighborhood school - you can call my school DC and you will be put on the waitlist given your original lottery # and new school preference.
For next year (K) you need to enroll in your neighborhood school.

Where will you want DC to be for K and do you want her to change schools after a year?

You're stuck either paying private daycare/preschool for a year or breaking the rules.
