Can you please clarify? How can people see in with the blinds closed?

Nah, curtains work pretty much everywhere.

I like curtains. Blocks more sound and light and you can certainly get a very spare, modern style.

Do you have any curtains in any room that you could try out in those rooms? It is amazing to me, the impact curtains can make in a room.

Depends on the space. It sounds like you are good without. They do make a space look "finished". I'm a big fan of simple straight floor to ceiling drapes- no valances.

Curtains are so old fashioned and dated. Best in a stuffy overdone decor not really conducive to light or airy. Minimalism is a much better approach. Less is more.

Curtains add a beautiful design element--very important imo, but endless possibility in terms of the aesthetic you're going for.

Agree with the earlier poster. I think all windows need some kind of curtain, even if it's very simple.

There are some fun curtains out there and a great way to add accent to a room.

I think every room should have blinds and curtains. But that's just me. Curtains can be as formal or informal as you want.

We have blinds and kind of like the open, airy look. I am considering curtains, but would it make it look "too much"? The room I am considering os multi use, with transom windows. Do people most often use curtains or not? Is it more or less formal to have them? Print or solid? Light or dark? I have been poking around on pinterest and houzz, but only get more ideas (without narrowing it down). Ideas?
