It is a wonderful place. I would switch to Standard Fed BCBS during open enrollment. I couldn't find a decent in network place for PT or OT. Ours are both OON.

MOCO Movement is out of network for the Fed. Standard BCBS network. MOCO as a courtesy submits it directly to BCBS which is very nice. BCBS pays you (we get around 100) and you pay MOCO. I don't think there is any benefit at all for the Basic Fed BCBS plan.

Have you looked at Georgetown?

Does this mean your co-pay is $60? Or that you have out of network coverage and they are OON? I don't have OON coverage.

Interested in this place for my boy with mild low tone and motor planning though.

Thanks,

Marie McNamara, an OT at Pediatric Therapy Associates, takes the Federal BCBS PPO plans as an in-network provider. In case you need that info for future reference.

OT is a different ball game - it is very difficult to find ones that take ins. In my experience, psychologists and psychiatrists are a similar situation.

Most PTs take BCBS and other major ins. plans.

In my experience SLPs are somewhere in the middle.

OP here. Thanks! I was worried that I would have the same experience with PT as I did with OT. For OT I have found no providers other than childrens that take insurance. Maybe I should post about that. I could be surprised!

I don't know of a pediatric PT that doesn't take BCBS.

Second the recommendation for Early Intervention Associates.

Moco Movt. We get $100 from BlueCrossBlueShield/Fed for every $160 hour-long session. So, not free; but a hefty cost offset. Plus MocoMovt submits the paperwork!

We thought Connie Sullivan of Pediatric Therapy Associates near Viers Mill and Randolph in MoCo was excellent for our son. We went to her, covered by insurance (not direct billed), when we were on Federal BCBS Basic. We went to her starting when our child was 15 months old and he had no language. She taught him to walk in one month. MCITP still found him to be at least 25% delayed after that month, so we did both private (with Connie) and MCITP PT for a time. We thought she was great to work with and if we ever need pediatric PT again, we won't hesitate to go back to her.
