I assume electronics on Craigslist are stolen.

I would worry that it was stolen goods.

Also, if the price is too low. It's stolen. My Mac Book was stolen from my house and sold for $50 on the street.

I managed to track it down (the person who had it was an idiot) but the police found the thief and the buyer and charged both because you are never going to buy a legit Mac Book for $50.

Only if the gave me the license plate number of the truck it fell off of . . . Or could show that they won it in a prize situation.

Don't know if you're in DC or not, but I wouldn't do it. There is a massive Apple theft ring in the DC area and several people who tried to buy Apple products on Craigslist were robbed at gunpoint. DON'T DO IT!!!

Ask them to meet you at an Apple Store and you can verify that the waranty is valid and it is working properly before you hand over the cash.
If the seller is legit they won't mind doing this.

The ad says it's a sealed box and includes a one-year warranty. But would Apple honor the warranty? Why would someone be selling a sealed new laptop, anyway? Do you think they're stolen or something?
