My husband has stretch marks on his back from his teenage growth spurt. This is completely normal. All of the oils in the world won't stop them from appearing if he is genetically prone to them.

Stretch marks are caused by skin stretching, in any direction! Pregnant bellies, anyone? Since OP says that growth didn't occur simultaneously to the appearance of stretch marks, I am enquiring as to possible weight gain, which is the second possibility.



Actually, the pp states "it's not height it's weight." Not an inquiry, but a statement of supposed fact.

It can be height. Mine were from a rapid height gain. I got them in the bends of my hips and inside by armpits when I was 13.

Is he feeling well? If not or he has some unusual symptoms or you have a cat, you might google bartonella images just to make sure. It causes markings that look a lot like stretch marks.

Since it's largely genetic, there is probably not much to do. But you can see if keeping up with the bio oil, and adding healthy fat sources (olive oil, avocado) to his diet helps a little.

My son who is 16 has recently started to get stretch marks on his back.
We have been putting BioOil and Palmers oil on but he is still getting them.
What can we do?
He hasn't had a huge growth spurt. He is 6 feet 2 in but he has been that tall for a year and the stretch marks started two months ago.
