LOL. DH and I have a king bed in the master bedroom, and we also wonder how we managed on a queen when we first got married. Large beds are a luxury, but I do value a good night sleep a lot and will never hesitate to buy bigger sized beds.

I always wanted the kids to have spacious beds, and so they went from their cribs to queen sized beds. My kids like their queen sized beds and they have plenty of space in their rooms for other furniture. YMMV.

In fairness, the beds at most colleges are extra-long twins, so you could invest in those if you think your boys will be tall.

There's no reason to buy full -- they're the same length as a standard twin. I personally hate full beds.

I had a twin bed until I moved out at 23 and bought a queen. My brother had a twin until he moved out at 25 and bought a queen.

Neither of us ever asked for a bigger bed. It never occurred to me.

Nope. My 6'2" 18-year-old still sleeps in a twin bed. And that's what he'll have at college in the fall, too.

I agree. And as someone else said - what happens when they get to college? Every dorm room I ever saw had a twin.

Same here. I didn't have a full sized bed until after I graduated from college. My kids are in the bunk beds my brother and I had growing up.

My DC has a queen but wants a twin so more room for a bigger desk or couch

It probably depends on the kid. I keep trying to convince my 7 year old he wants a full and he doesn't care.

Mom of toddler and ES kid here. Both are/will be in twin beds because we had received some through family. As kids get older/bigger will they naturally ask for bigger beds? We are thinking about future furniture needs to make some design decisions. If it makes a difference, both are boys and I expect they will be tall.
