Pretty lame. I took some out of town friends there and was embarrassed.

Yup.

Exactly. Not worth the admission charge this year.

My 7 year old got bored pretty quickly. We ended up spending most of our time on the second floor.

I would say not as much fun as the Beach but it is beautiful, educational, and a fair bit of fun. The kids can go down the slides, climb up to the top of a very high iceberg, and also jump around on the pillows. It's also just cool-feeling and refreshing to walk around in there, especially in this humidity we're having. Combine Icebergs with something else at the NBM - like the Play-Work-Build exhibit on the second floor - and you'll have a full and fun afternoon.

We took a group of kids and they really liked it. Probably not as much to do as the Beach, but still pretty fun. There are large iceberg-like structures, all with little facts written on them about icebergs. There is an iceberg where you can go inside and take photos. There is a very tall iceberg where you climb up a long series of stairs to a balcony so you can see above "sea level." The same iceberg also has two slides. There are giant pillows kids can jump on, lounge in, move around. There is a stand selling icy treats (shaved ice, ice cream).

We went this past weekend - on Saturday morning. Got there around 11. It was not crowded but by the time we left (around mid-afternoon), it was getting pretty busy.

I think you should be fine going tomorrow (today!) - a lot of people are still out of town, it seems, judging from the reduced traffic in downtown DC.

In terms of tips: save time for the build-work-play exhibit on the second floor! And pack lunches if you can. The cafeteria they have there is very small and has limited offerings. The Icebergs exhibit has a stand serving kakigori (shaved ice) and mochi ice cream.

Should we wait or can I take my three kids tomorrow? Any tips?
