We gutted and expanded the kitchen and finished the entire attic area (full footprint of main level) to add 2 BRs, 2 full BAs and office space. We had original woodwork and doors throughout the house so wanted to make sure the addition kept to the original style of the house inside and out. Shawn was very sensitive to that and easy to work with.
PP, this sounds similar to what we would like to do in reference to finishing the entire attic area and possibly adding a second story addition to an existing addition in the back of our house. We did redo our kitchen last year. I am curious about a ballpark cost for what you described--and sorry if that is rude to ask. We've never worked w/ an architect before and the renovations we've done so far we managed w/ hiring a contractor b/c it wasn't extensive. Thanks so much!
and thanks to the other PPs for all suggestions!!
