Supermarket carts are rigged so the wheels lock if they are pushed outside the parking lot. Homie D and the rest need to get with the program.

In the UK they make you deposit a pound coin in order to get a cart. You only get it back upon return. No stolen carts.

Yeah Aldi does that here. Problem is that 90% of the time I don't have a quarter on me and so I only buy what I can carry in my hands. Their policy actually makes me buy less.

These carts cost stores hundreds of dollars. It's terrible that people are stealing them. And even worse if the county takes it to the dump.

There was a target cart in my hood for a while. I called Target and they did not care. They said they don't pick up carts outside of their parking lot. So, I called the County (MOCO) and they came and picked it up and took it to the dump.

It is illegal, it's called theft. And if you don't have a car, you get a folding cart like everyone in NYC has.

Says the person with a car.

Umm buy a wheeled grocery cart if you don't have a car.

I think you should call the nearest store and ask. Make a list with the exact location of every cart you know of, or even round them up if you can. I would think they'd like their carts back.

Do you live in an area with lots of poor people without cars?

I would call the store.

They are literally everywhere.
The nearest Home Depot is probably 2-3 miles away from here.
That is a lot of walking while pushing a shopping cart.

What do I do?
Do I call the nearest store?

Do they even care?
