having lived for three years in London, and hearing many versions of British accents, she is my personal champion of irritating accents on air. It seems
to my untrained ear she is attempting a posh accent, suitable for her position, but cannot for the life of her, get through one sentence, it seems without lapsing into her default through-the-nose, Audrey Hepburn-Liza wailing cockney-sounding, bain of profession Higgins, and teeth rattling, accent.
On PBS, the BBC world news America is my go-to TV newscast, but it is all I can do to make it through the half hour without my version of the question: why can't the English teach their children how to speak? Most of your reporters do well, but Laura unfortunatley fails miserably.
