Babies are welcomed as part of the congregation, not to be hidden away in a cry room. Most people understand that babies and children are going to make some noise. If it is a full on scream fest, that is a little different. Our (Catholic) parish does not have a cry room. If our infant is getting too fussy for my comfort, I step out into the vestibule while I settle him.
If you're getting "looks" from people, that's a different matter. But people need to get over themselves. Pope Francis has actually spoken about this: “…children cry, they are noisy, they don’t stop moving. But it really irritates me when I see a child crying in church and someone says they must go out. God’s voice is in a child’s tears: they must never be kicked out of church.” http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/blog/pope-francis-gods-voice-is-in-tears-of-children-at-mass/
