We had teenagers do this to us once. That was bad enough to see such poor manners in kids. But to have a grown azzed woman do that? That is really bad. And, yes, you were justified being annoyed. Not much you can do. Just wait for her to get up and go to the bathroom....haha.

+1

OP, she knows this - she's being an ass. Tell us where?

This happened once when I was visiting a friend's neighborhood pool. Never happens at country clubs, FYI. Maybe you can buy class, after all.

Anyway, maybe you could ask her about it - "didn't you see my stuff on that chair? Why did you move it?"

Yes, like in OC hotel pools where people put personal towels on chairs when the pool opens and then go down to the beach...

Why?

I usually just sit at a table while my kids swim, but you are talking about parents in the water with their kids who use their table during adult swim.

They were there first and are using the tables properly.

If she is just sitting on the chair where you left it and dumped your stuff, i would go passive aggressive and go stand right next to her (and your stuff) and start drying myself off in her personal space, taking extra care to flip some water on her as I dried my hair

If there are empty chairs just move your stuff.

She just put your stuff on the floor? How long were you away from the chair? If you were gone like half a day, then I could understand. But if you're in/out of the pool, that's just rude.

If your stuff is on it, it's yours. I'd have said something to her about touching your things--not cool

She was rude. It’s happened to many people. Sorry, OP.

Well, at my pool there are always tons of extra chairs, so I do pitch a fit when someone does this.

I don't know what the etiquette is if it's really crowded. But I would never take someone's chair with stuff sitting on it.
