Unless the teacher had inaccurate grades for multiple students, I doubt his/her leaving is connected to a grading error.
People make mistakes. Having over 130 kids on one's load isn't a cakewalk. Mistakes are made. Think of someone dealing with data all day. Teachers have hundreds of assignments to grade and they constantly face interruptions. They're not sitting in a quiet cubicle adding numbers to an Excel sheet.
