DH and I are now separated, but his phone addiction was part of the problem. In addition to the massive trust issues caused by his decision to watch porn on it, he was constantly messing around with it when he was doing projects around the house. This meant that "cleaning the kitchen" would take 2 hours, because there was so much tech time in the middle. Then he'd complain about how tired he was, how he had no down time, how we never had time to talk, etc.

Tech is great, but there needs to be a time and place for tech-free human interaction.

I get annoyed when he's fiddling with it while we're eating and/or having a conversation. However, if I ask him to put the phone down while we're talking/eating, he will so it isn't THAT big of a deal. I also had to ask that he not play with his phone while we're in bed because the light really bugs me. I'd rather he hang out in the living room until he's actually ready to sleep than fiddle on his phone in bed.

We did need to have a discussion early in our relationship about him looking at his phone while talking with my family. My mother and sisters are huge sticklers for no staring at your phone while talking with them so it would have a very negative impact on their view of him. We both like to stay on our respective in-laws good sides so he agreed to not use his phone while talking with any of them.

OMG my DH also uses speaker, it drives me bonkers.

I am very annoyed but we have so many conflicts that I let this go.

Same here. No phones at the table. Table can mean "couch" - it's when we're eating.

My husband does work from his phone and is a twitter addict. No, it does not bother me at all.

He does not use the phone while eating, in the bathroom, while relaxing watching tv. His house priorities always come first. He's good about that.

The one thing that does annoy me, he uses speaker phone to talk. I do not want to hear the conversations and I think it's rude he doesn't tell the other person they are on speaker phone.

DW gets annoyed at me if I check my phone when we are visiting relatives. I'm not sure if that's specifically because she finds it more offensive then, or because she doesn't normally notice when I'm checking it because when we're at relatives is the only time she puts hers away.
