LA... don't know much about it but Hollywood and the film industry, of course. Red Hot Chili Peppers. Amazing Latino food. Surf culture and music.

LA is full of aspiring creative types that are getting by on family money, or just poor dipshits spending all of their money on hair extensions, soulcycle, coaching. It's a town full of dreamers and the predators that exploit them.
SF & Portland: People running away from home to reinvent themselves, changing their name, changing their gender, ranting about kombucha and better crosswalks.

I'll start:
DC: wonky, "class treasurer" types who love bureaucracy & politics, bike to work and consider that "edgy"
New York: finance exec assholes who party in the Hamptons and buy art because it's expensive
San Fran: nerdy tech types who are socially stunted (much like DC) but make lots of money
LA: rich creative types who get by on their parents money and try to make a living from their art
