Yes, they did this along with a shot of antibiotics because the cat had a fever. The antibiotics worked for two weeks but then the vomiting returned. I got a second shot of antibiotics but it's not doing the trick. Vet had previously said the next step was the ultrasound. The vomit that the cat is producing is horrible. When it first started I was not sure if it was diarrhea or vomit. It is very thin and very stinky. The cat has lost some weight but I was also decreasing food a bit as he is too fat. Has anyone seen this kind of vomit? It is really awful to clean up and I need to get it under control. When there's an episode he produces a lot. Total stinky mess.

I had this done for my dog. There is a mobile radiologist who comes to the vet's office with his equipment. It was $450 for a very large dog so the cat might cost less. They will shave the area first. And this was cheaper than going to a speciality hospital.

Have they done a gastrointestinal panel of bloodwork? Thyroid bloodwork? X-Ray?

My cat had this as part of a horrifically expensive diagnosis and treatment for pancreatitis. I don't remember what the ultrasound itself cost. Maybe $300. It was done at a vet hospital. Good luck OP!

Has anyone had one of these done? My cat has some pretty horrific vomiting (not from eating too fast or hairballs) that is not responding to medicine. I'm not sure what we would do if a tumor was found and beyond that I'm not sure what it might find. What did you pay? My vet has a specialist who rotates in her office once or twice a month.
