You don't have to clean the tubes. You don't get milk in them. If they are old and cracking or something then just buy new tubes.

I'm just finishing up nursing #1, and my pump sounds like it's dying. I just bought it for the first child, and I did not exclusively pump. Is this normal? I was hoping to use it with the second child as well!

This is my plan for #2, as well.

Hydrogen peroxide. It is sterilizing and dries fast. And then lasso it around like a cowboy (or whatever). This worked better for me than anything else.

This. Leave it attached to the pump with the pump on, and it will dry it out. I believe those were the instructions on Medela's website.

Probably a good idea. I replaced all parts, including the tubing between my first and second.

Yes. Buy new tubes.

My lactation consultant taught me to spin it-- twirll it-- fast, and a lot of the water comes out.

Have you tried swing the tubes around over your head? I think I heard that can help get the water out.

+1

You could try running alcohol through the tubing to get the water out. I run the pump in the stimulation phase with nothing attached to the tubing to get the condensation out after pumping. Maybe try that if the swinging method doesn't work (and be careful doing that as they're like whips!).

I just rinse it with water. But it never dries up. Is it ok?
