Yes, it is technically over at 7. Although last year, it ran over ( until 8:30) as all day concert schedules often do. Traffic wasn't bad I went and picked up my 13 year old 2 blocks from the stage.

Is he gay? It might be a really big deal to him.

This is also a concern of mine. My husband, who is actually much more liberal than I am, says no unequivocally.

I am a no vote. Based on the images I have seen from gay pride festivals, much of what is seen there should be rated (R) or worse.
I am no prude, but I would not allow my 16 YO to go.

I'm a yes person, but it's a little hard to comment on the getting home part without knowing where you live and which performers and their times.

Maybe I'd drive down and pick my kid up.

Maybe I'd have him metro.

Maybe I'd pay for uber.

Maybe there are other options I hadn't considered.

There would, in my house, be a curfew.

Metro should be ok unless you live beyond where the track work is happening, or he could uber home. My biggest concern would be an understanding about when he needs to be home, even if the concert schedule is running late and he misses something.

Part of my concern is him getting home in time. Won't Metro be a mess? Could people who think "no" elaborate?

Yes, if he's asking to go, I'd let him go.

Would you let a 16 year old (youngish in behavior), go to the Gay Pride Festival tomorrow at 5pm to see some of the performers? It is a school night although he is done with finals. Two friends he wants to go with are not done with finals, but that isn't my business.
