Use a can of compressed air to power-puff the glitter out. Or just a hairdryer.
Spray a paper towel with hairspray and blot the glitter. The hairspray will stick to the glitter, but not to your hair (unlike tape).
Condition your hair FIRST. Shampoo will dry the hair and the glitter, making them want to stick together. Condition and rinse and you'll help the glitter slide off. Then shampoo and proceed as usual.
You can always fill a small bucket and dip your hair into it (upside down). Gravity helps.
Braid your hair and roll the braid into a bun to protect your scalp. Glitter's harder to get off the scalp, but should brush out of ends fairly easily.
Just go with it.

Google "removing glitter from hair" I get hits for a dust wipe method & some other nylon type cleaning cloth method, but google it, it's too lengthy to re-explain.

I went to the parade with a friend one year.
My hair length is down to the middle of my lower back.
I had just washed my hair.
Sometime during the chaos of the parade I ended up with glitter and confetti all over my hair.
It was a disaster. Removing all of it was very difficult and not something I would want to experience again.
I have been invited again by the same friend.
Is there any way to remove that stuff without shaking my head violently in a manner that may cause a whiplash or a neck injury?
