Another vote for Pittsburgh -- good food, baseball and Warhol.

Driving across South Dakota from Mount Rushmore to DeSmet and walking around Laura Ingalls Wilder's homestead and town.

The Maine coast east of bar harbor. Not as spectacular as Acadia, but peaceful and beautiful.

Most of Iowa is very hilly and beautiful.

Agree on Pittsburgh. Fun city with lots to do and surprisingly scenic. Never been to Milwaukee.

Laconia/Weirs Beach, New Hampshire.

Sleepy beach town on a lake that picks up a bit in summer. Really sweet area. Close enough to the outlets at North Conway.

Greenville, SC reminds me of a quaint new England town.

Leaf peeping in Vermont. For city people we had a great time--surprisingly good food (instead of wine tasting we went cheese and maple syrup tasting) and beautiful hikes.
