I fully and wholeheartedly agree with the statement. Call Ms. Adams, the school registrar, at RGMS, if your child is on the list and is coming directly from an accredited Montessori school.

The Principal is taking another non-Principal role in the PGCPS system. The biggest concern for the parents was that she was leaving for another Principal's position and would take some of our really great teachers. With any school there are really great teachers and some that are not so great. We are relieved that this is not the case. For you parents that are concerned I would not be, if I were you. We have been there for a few years now.

We appreciate the Principal's efforts and hope that her goal of working to get some of those wait-listed students into the school continues. Several months ago in a Chat and Chew she informed the parents that if they knew of any Montessori qualified students that were on the wait-list we should ask the parents to call the school and ask to speak with Ms. Adams, the registrar. If any of you know of anyone that meets these qualifications ask the parents to call RGMS immediately.

Welcome new parents and students to the RGMS community.

I guess I'm not surprised. She's on the younger side and has been there for a few years already. She's a nice person and helped us when we had some troubles with red tape, getting forms completed. We haven't interacted with her beyond that. The one big way that she has affected us is through her hiring decisions. That hasn't gone well. Luckily there are enough older teachers to make the school continue to work for us.

I know parents who feel strongly that she didn't understand or value Montessori. They will be happy to see her go.

I saw that also! I have a kindergartener starting this fall and am curious too!

Did anyone see that the principal is leaving?

Any current parents care to weigh in on whether this is a good or bad thing?

(3yo starting in fall).

We are waitlisted for Kindergarten and the number is under 10. Do you think we can arrange a visit with the school?

What grade are you interested in and did you ever get the tour? Depending upon the grade movement may be possible.

Yes, I know a family that visited while wait listed. It was probably this exact week last year. The child made it off of the wait list and attends the school now. Just call school.

We were accepted into Hoyer and they had the open house/tour schedule on the website. As pp said call and see if yoy can get one before school is out.

I don't believe they are doing any more tours. I was in their office yesterday, and overheard the registrar say that. They usually do tours around February/March timeframe. But you can always call to verify.
