We are a 2 Mom family and DD makes a craft at school for her Grandfather, they actually write Pop Pop on the card or gift for her because they know.
Is there a male relative she could make something for?
if its an activity that she doesnt have a male for, just skip it.

My husband passed away when DS was young. I encouraged him to make a gift for either me or his grandpa (my dad). Usually he chose my dad.

Surely there are others in the same situation. Invite a Grandpa, Uncle. If nobody is available, you can go. If someone asks, say "her dad wasn't available."

Does she have any special men in her life - friends of yours, uncles, or grandfather? Maybe you can talk with her teacher about modifying the activity for your daughter. She can't be the only one in this situation.
