no. There is no need to confront them to tell them. They are the ones who are cheating. Sounds like OP has legit. info. She should simply let the office staff know and they can do whatever they are supposed to do. This is not a MYOB situation. These people are trying to get something to which they are not entitled. The rest of us don't get to just pick any school we want to send our kids to -- you have to actually buy/rent in that zone. I'm in the process of buying in a different school zone at great expense and even greater stress.
OP is doing the right thing to bring it to the school's attention. If there is a valid reason for those kids to stay, then the school will know that and no action will be taken. If the people are in the wrong, then they have no right to stay and this is the best time for it to be resolved (during summer). The kids can make a fresh start at the correct school in the fall. The cheating mom can save face b/c she won't have to pull her kids out of the current school in the middle of the year when someone else figures it out. Some people need a little help figuring out how to do the right thing (I speaking of the mom who is cheating, not the OP).
