no. There is no need to confront them to tell them. They are the ones who are cheating. Sounds like OP has legit. info. She should simply let the office staff know and they can do whatever they are supposed to do. This is not a MYOB situation. These people are trying to get something to which they are not entitled. The rest of us don't get to just pick any school we want to send our kids to -- you have to actually buy/rent in that zone. I'm in the process of buying in a different school zone at great expense and even greater stress.

OP is doing the right thing to bring it to the school's attention. If there is a valid reason for those kids to stay, then the school will know that and no action will be taken. If the people are in the wrong, then they have no right to stay and this is the best time for it to be resolved (during summer). The kids can make a fresh start at the correct school in the fall. The cheating mom can save face b/c she won't have to pull her kids out of the current school in the middle of the year when someone else figures it out. Some people need a little help figuring out how to do the right thing (I speaking of the mom who is cheating, not the OP).

Op here again and my kids love the kids -- I do not (trust me I realize they will encounter kids they have issues with -- happening now and not my quarrel).

How do you know they haven't been pupil placed for the rest of the year or have an IEP or other circumstances that allow their kids to remain at the old school? You choose to send your kids to an out of boundary school yet presume to know all of the reasons someone else is doing the same. Your kids are going to encounter plenty of kids over the years that they don't like and/or you don't like. It would better serve your kids to teach them how to navigate the circumstances rather than focus on removing the other kids from the school.

How long has it been since they moved? Do you know if they plan on continuing the charade next year? If you don't know their plans for next year and/or they moved sometime after Jan., then I think you should let it be.

If you know they have been at the wrong school b/c they moved before Jan. and/or you have good reason to believe they intend to continue with this next school year, then it would be right to let someone in the office know that they may want to look into it.

I believe something similar was posted but here is my situation - there is a family in our neighborhood who moved in from another nearby neighborhood and they continue to send their sons to the (old) school, instead of transferring to the neighborhood school they are zoned for. My children actually go to the the school they are zoned for (magnet program) and aren't at the neighborhood school. I'm not a fan of the influence of the sons on my kids at school and particularly on the bus. I realize you can't escape this stuff, but the truth of the matter is that they shouldn't be going to the school! I am considering ratting them out to the school board -- I do, actually know their circumstances and they are just forcing it for convenience sake, hoping they don't get caught. I realize this is incredibly petty and if I were in the same position I'd be pissed...but...anyone have any experience with this or know how these things go?
