We live IB for Payne and love the neighborhood. However, DD goes to LT OOB.

This. I know 4 families with 4-5 year olds in-bounds for Payne. Two just moved. Two are going to private schools.

I would look into Miner over Payne

The early childhood program is fine and in demand, and the building was nicely renovated last year, but high SES families don't stay for K or above yet. The principal was canned last year and I haven't heard much about the new one. School is improving in its delivery of remedial education. Can't see it working for you past PreK4.

Hi all,

Interested in any opinions of Payne, esp. from those with first hand experience or kids there. Hoping to move somewhere on the Hill and kid(s) on the way in the near future. Hear great things about the usual suspects, Watkins, Maury, Ludlow, etc., but wondering about Payne. Is it improving? Will it in the next few years?
