What maintenance concerns are you worried about? My understanding is that you seal it and that's that. A sealant can last 1-15 years, depending on the quality and use of the area.

Marble has been around forever and it isn't a trend. Marble is in most luxury homes for a reason.

I would do marble! I LOVE marble and want it everywhere! Etching doesn't bother me and I would do honed. Staining isn't an issue on sealed marble. I would not do half and half. Take a look on Houzz, marble baths are gorgeous!

We found a marble subway tile that we like but now I am concerned about putting it in a combo bathtub/shower because of etching or staining. Any experience? Also, considering glass subway tile.
Thoughts on either? I am not a huge fan of the white ceramic subway tile but would consider beveled white beveled. Looking for alternatives.
