Dog owner here too. No animals on fields means definitely don't let them run and poop on the middle of the field, but also, don't let them poop at the edges, near the sign, near the sidewalk. Even if you clean it up, that's where kids play. There are sooooo many other appropriate places for a dog.

I'm a dog owner... and I totally get the frustration with dog owners. Some people are just clueless. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person who trains and picks up after their dogs.

Just don't paint all dog owners the same. Some of us are actually ok.

Same for Bethesda Elementary. The school has asked parents not to bring dogs when picking up their kids, which seems a reasonable request considering the sheer number of buses, cars and students everywhere. The same parents still pick up their kids with their dogs in tow.

And then the dogs leave poo on school grounds and field because the owner is busy chatting with other parents and looking for their kid(s).

I love dogs and understand they need to poo, but their owners are dreadfully inconsiderate!

I see this at Haycock Elementary. There is a gang of neighbors that routinely walk their dogs through the school field. There is a posted sign that says, no animals allowed but they just walk past it.

People just don't have any common sense when it comes to their dogs.

Some idiot mom brought her dog into the playground the other day and let the dog roam free until a school class of young kids arrived.

Not only are those stupid people putting other people at risk but their dogs as well.

+1. Dog owners, please listen up. Not everyone thinks your dog is adorable or is thrilled to see it at our kids games. If this issue gets further out of hand, there are going to be more and more parents (like me) complaining, and soon perhaps all of the athletic fields will go the route of Carter-Barron and ban them there altogether. Is that what you want?

People do this in my neighborhood at the nearby athletic fields. It's bad because of the dog poop but also because these running dogs might frighten children, seniors etc who are playing, exercising nearby.

No, not a ticket. Usually the entitled assholes who do this are rich as hell. They don't care about a $35 ticket. Confiscate the animals and rehome them with a responsible owner.

I get it. Dogs are animals. The world is their toilet. But for heavens sake please "flush" said toilet.
Clean up after your dog.

There is a small "park" outside an apt building near my DS's school.
The residents use it as the dog toilet. The "park" is tiny yet there are two places to get free poop bags.
Someone people still don't clean up after their dogs. If you are too lazy to pick up poop then you are too lazy to have a dog.

Imagine if every parent just dropped crappy diapers on the ground after changing. I mean the garbage can is soooooo far away some times.
Pretty gross right? Well this is how I feel about dog poop. I get it. Your dog will never be toilet trained. No one expects this, but as the human in the situation I expect the owner to clean up after the dog.
