OP here - yes I went. And yes I am depressed. But it was a nice time - not overly fun but nice to see the bride and be reminded of why I wanted to attend to celebrate her. Small wedding so lots of time to hang out.

She probably blew it off for a happy ending massage.

Get a couple of drinks in you at the reception and start mingling. You'll find some fun!
There's always some strong hormones flowing at a wedding, everybody dressed nice.
You'll be posting here later about the wonderful guy you hooked up with.

A not too close friend was getting married and invited me. When I RSVP-ed I was eager to go - 2 days out of DC in a southern city so I though it's be a change of pace. Now I'm here and ugh - can't force myself to get out of bed for a 10:30 am ceremony and a daytime reception that'll go until 5. I'm solo on this and don't know if I'll even know any of the other invitees - I know I have one friend there but she's coming with her DH and kid and also bringing her cousin (idk why) so hanging with them will be irritating. And it's pouring rain on top of that. Why did I do this?? So not worth the money - though it's be worth it to lay around my hotel room watching movies.
