Don't listen to PPs. You need a realtor who'll get you into pocket listing service. Redfin can't get you that. You'll forever be behind in a competitive market.

I recently bought in that area, and I don't believe that. Take a look at recent sales--most of the properties listed have gone well above asking. You get that with multiple bids, not by having a non-transparent pocket listing.

I don't like re agents I do think they're All the same. I work in the industry. I was helping my inlaws buy a house and their agent was like look at these hard wood floors. I said look at this sagging roof. Seriously, they're not working for you they're trying to get paid. When I retire in 30 years I might try to right all they're wrongs.

In the mean time I hope there is someone out there who is truly looking out for the buyers.

I just bought near that area. As others have mentioned any realtor can give you access to coming Soons. The trick is to have enough money to escalate since homes in that area go for multiple bids. All cash financing helps-as does waiving inspection contingencies (because you had a preinsoection)...

You can ask any realtor to search the Coming Soon listings in the MLS. Since UpNest over there is self promoting, I will say that Knockity lets homeowners search for buyers even before they put their home on the market. We're having success in VA and I'd be happy to promote a good buyer profile in MD. You're welcome to use your own agent.

RedFin is not a good recommendation, it's only about 0.5% back. Has anyone gotten more than 2.25% back on your website? I-agent, Glasshouse, and Take2 will get you 2% back. There's another one that will give you 2.25% but is too much legwork for most people so I don't even mention it.

All realtors are more or less the same. Use Upnest or Redfin and at least get some commission $$$$ back

We have focused our house search on the Somerset neighborhood near Friendship Heights. If anyone has bought there and can recommend a realtor they like who might know about upcoming listings, we'd appreciate it!
