We live in a townhouse - no one is maintaining lawns.
As for doting on my child, I normally am the furthest thing from a pushover. But when it comes to learning about nature or the outdoors, and I already have pots and soil, it seems like it's win-win to give into something that's free and educational.

No advice OP about growing them but good for you! They're really important for bees. I honestly didn't realize that people still have the retrograde attitude against dandelions these days.

Planting weeks because your child wants you to? Uh, you are a much more doting parent than I am. I'd tell DC, that's sweet honey, but they are only found in nature. Here, lets plant some yellow zinnias. Done.

I can't imagine the wild seeds you collect wouldn't sprout for you. You can also plant seeds from the fruit that you eat (apples, oranges, etc.) They usually sprout and grow, but they will never fruit very well in this region.

I love that they sell dandelion seeds! Will it work from the fluffy white ones though? One I explained to the kid that those were seeds he was set on doing it what way.
I mean, they're normally wild so I should be able to throw some it a pot without much cover and let them do their thing, right?

My kid loves dandelions and has decided that's what we should plant this year. Sigh. Are they viable in a pot? Any tips?
