I saw it around that age and checked under my bed for a long time after watching that movie. Recommend you look elsewhere.

OP here. No, he likes gore and is not at all sensitive. And I'm pretty liberal about movies but I still fee like he's too young for the super gory/violent stuff.

I have no clue what you are talking about. My kid has been asking to see Jason movies since Halloween two years ago when he took notice of the costume. This year he has realized it's Friday the 13th and really wants to see the movie. I asked for alternatives as I have no plans to let him see the movie anytime soon (even though he swears some of his classmates have seen it). So, WTF are you even talking about?

does he get scared easily? I don't remember the movie, I saw it when i was REALLY young! sometimes gory & gruesome isn't as frightening as creepy (exorcist, for example). Lots of boys like gore. Super normal, although if he's sensitive & prone to bad dreams then I would save it until he's older.

Common Sense says that a 12 yo could see Scrooged, I was a Teenage Werewolf, Jaws, Kids and Monsters, The Watcher in the Woods (that book scared me a kid), Something Wicked this way Comes, The Haunting.

Can anyone recommend any alternatives that might satisfy his need to be scared today? He's already seen some of the Goosebumps movies, he's not really intersted in those anymore. I havent seen Friday the 13th in years but if I remember correctly it was super gory and gruesome, probably too much so for an 11 year old.
