I don't have the time or inclination to photograph license plates (I agree that it is pointless without other information) but I am on the wait list at my Capitol Hill IB school (and on the wait list at pretty much every school that I could make work with my commute. A lottery is a lottery and I accept that I lost and have to pay a big daycare bill once again. I don't begrudge my neighbors' kids their spots at all. But, I would be royally pissed if I found out one of them knew that a kid lived OOB or in MD and didn't report it. Residency cheating is not a victimless crime when wait lists at Capitol Hill schools have gotten as long as they are now. The Hill preschool, Gan Shalom, Federal daycare centers, etc are full of Hill kids (and their tax-paying parents) on wait lists.

There is always some jerk from Maryland who thinks its okay to cheat the system. Good for that parent! At least someone is doing something.

I agree that there is no point unless they have more information than a license plate number. But, it's idiotic to claim that an actual address cheater is not taking advantage of DC taxpayers. It's a crime and those guilty are criminals just like people who carjack or steal from people's homes. Crime is crime and theft is theft.

OK, which one of you weirdos decided to go up to one of the Capitol Ill schools to photograph license plates and kids walking into school today. That was super creepy and a messed up way of showing your displeasure with not getting a slot. While you are talking about your rights, what about the rights of the families who are simply trying to take their kids to school in peace?
