I gave her an out when we saw them last week. She texted me Friday saying she will book. Then she wished me happy mother's day yesterday but did not book yet. I just don't get her hesitation to pull the trigger. Does she not realize it is a holiday weekend and hotels will be sold out? I don't want to badger her. I am ok with not going to NJ. Rehoboth is closer. I just don't want her to get mad that I made other plans when we already had plans with her.

Can you just ask her? Does she know you are waiting to hear from her before booking? I am a little flighty and have ADD and it takes me forever to actually do something like make a call or book a hotel. You'll just have to ask her if she is waiting for something or if she is ready to book today. Or offer to do it for her.

Thing is we had lunch with them 1.5 weeks ago and she brought it up again. She reconfirmed and said she would book. Then she wished me Mother's Day and mentioned trip again. Why isn't she booking?!?!?!

If the people you are supposed to go to NJ with said they are booking a hotel and you are supposed to go, why not just trust that they will go and continue with your plan?

Good luck getting rooms this close to Memorial Day. I tried booking beach hotels about a month ago for that weekend and everything was booked.

Maybe she is waiting for you to book? Why does she have to go first?

Perhaps instead of texting you can get on the phone and discuss it with her - just tell her you both need to book now (since memorial day is in a couple of weeks anyway).

I would just give her a date by which she needs to book or you will make other plans. You can keep the message light but be clear that if no booking happens by that date, you will not be joining her.

We are supposed to go away with a family to NJ Beach for Memorial Day weekend. They are the ones who asked us about a month ago. We have emailed back and forth and texted back and forth and picked a hotel. She will text me and talk about this trip and then she doesn't book. I told her to email me her confirmation and I will book right after.

Does she just not want to go?

Our other friends just invited us to Rehoboth the same weekend. I mentioned it to other friend and she still wants to go to NJ with us but still does not book. Ugh.

Why would someone wait so long? You do need to put a 50% deposit. I doubt it is money. Her DH makes good money. I know they paid for their house in cash so a few hundred dollars should be nothing for them.
