They are all great. I know families at all of the Robinson pyramid schools, and we have been at two of them - Terra Centre and Laurel Ridge. Both communities served by those schools have active, tight knit communities (Burke Centre and Kings Park West respectively) and we live in the Fairfax Club Estates/Middleridge neighborhood and that's great too (which is served by Bonnie Brae). You really can't go wrong - as the previous person wrote - find a house you like and run with it. Unless you know you're kids are immersion and you can't drive (for AAP, you get bussing) any of these places will be great.

Totally agree. The great thing about the Burke area in general is that all of the schools are good and there are lots of different housing options in many different price ranges.

also some of the homes in White Oaks don't have HOAs the same way that that Burke Centre area has. (pools and stuff too)

White Oaks is also a AAP Center school, so you could live in Terra Centre, but get bussed to White Oaks for AAP.

Unless you already know your kids are AAP or immersion, I wouldn't worry about it. Pick a home you like. Kids never turn out as expected.

Ditto 4:18. Less expensive doesn't mean the schools are lesser. All of the pyramids are strong.

That's what I thought as well. However, I noticed that for example, homes zoned for White Oaks elementary were less expensive than ones zone for Terra Centre.

Burke Centre (Terra Centre territory) is a little more expensive than other, fairly similar neighborhoods in Burke, but I think this has more to do with BC's amenities and possibly some intangible sense of community than it does with school quality. I live in BC and like it very much, but it isn't the only nice part of Burke. Cherry Run is great; we probably would have bought there if there were a community pool and if it were closer to the VRE station.
