My brother once raised a little of baby mice after our uncle found them in his woodpile and wanted to drown them. Our neighbor had two baby calves that were being bottle fed, and my brother fed them some of the formula, which was made from a powder and is apparently better than store-bought cow milk for lots of reasons (according to the vet to whom my brother took the mice...yes, my brother was 16, and yes, he is soft-hearted). One died, but four lived, and my brother had them for a few years in hamster Habitrails.

You might try calling the vet to find out where to buy powdered milk made for baby animals. Maybe the vet's office has something they use for rabbits, or some other herbivore. I don't think store-bought cow's milk is going to be enough.

The mouse made it through the night but doesn't look happy. I put a bit of the bread soaked in milk up to his nose with a pair of pliers and he seemed interested in eating for a couple of seconds then stopped.

I'll take him to an animal rescue place today.

If you still have him, go ahead and take him to the animal shelter near you and they will take it to wildlife rescue.

Honestly you have a dying baby creature which is suffering. Do the right thing and put it out of its misery.

LOL I just put some water in a milk cap. So far he's avoided it. Now I wonder if I should take it out....

I put water in the Gatorade cap, FWIW.

This happened to me once. I felt so bad for the mouse that I got a Gatorade cap, and I tried to make it drink to get some strength up. It ended up drowning itself within a few seconds. You could try that.
