Subscription to Prime so he can stream video onto the tablet

Does he live alone? If so, a house cleaner? Gift cards to the local grocery store?

Tickets to some sort of live performance where they live?

Actually if all they have is a VCR what about a DVD player?

Maybe you send a dvd player AND hire a local person to come in install it and explain how to use the remotes.

Classic funny movies. When my dad was diagnosed I purchased some of his favorites: Tootsie, Blazing Saddles, History of the World Part 1.

It does not matter that you don't like it - it is about him.

I'm sure you can find used VCR tapes on Amazon or even your local thrift shops. If that's what would make him happy then do it. That is the purpose of a gift. If you don't want to get him something he would enjoy then don't bother with a gift.

He's depressed, and I'd rather get him out of the house a bit. Was depressed (or lazy??) pre cancer too.

is undergoing chemo and has no hobbies or real interests. Mid 70s.

We live too far away to take him out for lunch, and I am on restricted travel for health reasons so I can't fly there.

I've already done the picture frame/coffee mug/blanket with the kids faces plastered on them.

I suppose a gc to a movie or a restaurant, but I do that often for Christmas. Ug. He is still feeling okay and not too tired/sick to do things out of the house.

Any ideas?
