I run my dishwasher nightly or maybe every other day. Twice a day?!

It's also the crumbs/food on the floor that seems to get everywhere--and even gets in other rooms a bit. It's hard to keep up with all the crumbs.

I just find the housekeeping part of being a SAHM very challenging. Also, my toddler no longer naps so I don't have much time during the day to clean. We're out all morning in between breakfast and lunch and then I have one hour during "quiet time" when I usually just rest. I do most of my cleaning after dinner but by then I'm really tired.

Get a dog! Seriously. My dog keeps my floors crumb-free!

Unless your toddler is the size of Honey Boo Boo's mom, I don't understand your situation.

I am being honest here.

How is this possible? We have 4 plates or bowls from breakfast, plus 2 coffee cups and 2 glasses. Lunch means 3 plates and 3 glasses. Dinner is 4 large plates, sometimes 4 bowls, 4 glasses. Plus whatever is used for snacks. Plus the utensils. Plus anything used to make the meals that can go in the dishwasher. I run mine 2x/day.

Do you never cook or eat at home?

Besides all that cleaning up and loading the dishwasher, there is the issue of the floor. Crumbs everywhere and tons of food on the floor (my toddler no longer throws food, but somehow it still seems to get everywhere).

I am spending at least an hour total per day cleaning the kitchen and dishes. I feel like this is a lot of wasted time. It doesn't even take into account the amount of time I have to spend grocery shopping and cooking. I feel like it's so much easier to eat out, but we only eat out about 2-3 times per week.

What is your kitchen cleaning routine if you SAH? I feel like I am constantly being weighed down by the mess.

Op I fill my sink with soapy water and hand wash the dishes and let them air dry. I gave up on the dishwasher. I scrub the sink out at the end of the day.

I have a hand held vacuum for sweeping up crumbs (and a dog lol). I also use wipes for quick clean ups and vacuum/Swiffer the floor (it's tile in the kitchen and hardwood everywhere else).

I grocery shop when I need to. It's not that bad.

For a single toddler? No. My house was spic and span when I only had one kid. It was easy street. With 3, it's a constant uphill battle.

I call BS on your situation. Do you live in an old filthy home and eat like pigs ? Just admit you don't like kitchen duties and eat out. Lying doesn't help.

Yup, my kids are teens so they can cook for themselves if needed but they are messy! Never ending.

Once a week is not the norm. Your honesty is rude and bitchy. Might want to work on your delivery.

That is a lot of dishes! I have six kids and only run it once a day - granted many of mine are at school during the day. Do you reuse cups? Mine each have a color of cup and use it all day versus taking a new one each time. Stuff like that may cut down.

When I had my third I did something that Im really not proud of but REALLY needed to do. I switched to paper plates. Terrible for the earth, great for my sanity. Three kids under 5 and only run the dishwasher every other day!

Yes. I might just buy paper plates so I don't go insane.

I'm a SAHM of a toddler. I feel like my kitchen is constantly in use (3 meals a day plus snacks) and that I'm constantly cleaning it. I run the dishwasher twice a day.
